Drop the Qualifiers and Answer the Damn Question
If you are going to be in business, you have to have the confidence to own what you do and who you are.
If someone asks what you do, don’t start with:
“It may sound silly…”
“I just got started, so…”
“You’re probably won’t find this interesting, but”
If someone asks what you do, what you are up to or what your recent accomplishments are, just answer the damn question. And while you are at it, be proud. If you think what you are doing is silly, then why are you doing it? And if you don’t, then don’t assume others will find it silly either. Have the confidence to share your vision, achievements and work without making excuses. It is this attitude and outlook that will help you to move forward and be more successful.
This is another post inspired by the amazing Liz Strauss, who tells folks similar things all of the time and now has me doing it too!
