I seem to have struck a chord with this short video on remembering you can choose what you will and will not accept in your work situation. While I recorded this for my job search clients, it applies equally to entrepreneurs who feel they need to work themselves to exhaustion or collapse.
Remember that you are in control and you get to choose. There are always options and possibilities, even if you can’t see them at the moment.
As we approach the Fourth of July holiday celebrating our independence and freedom here in the United States, I feel compelled to remind professionals – corporate and entrepreneurs – that you have agency.
And yes, this applies to all of you working extra “gig jobs.” I covered that in “Agency and the Gig Economy: Don’t Be an Idiot.”
