Carol Roth recently came back from a big event she does every year and told me it was the best one yet. I suggested we jump on a quick video call to talk about what makes people want to attend an event in person, and how companies can host successful events.
Getting butts in seats can be a big issue for live events. People’s butts generally want to stay on their own couches.
We talked about the ways you can entice attendees to attend live by booking speakers they want to meet, offering CEU credits, etc.
We discussed mixing up the types of presentations so attendees don’t get bored. And she shared one suggestion that turned something that could have been a drag into something fun for attendees. Good planning makes for good events!
Carol also talked about the importance of saving some of your best stuff for last so people have something to look forward to.
