As 2025 has just begun, it’s time to check in with the fabulous CarolRoth.com contributor network of business owners, experts, advisors and entrepreneurs to have them share their own business-related New Year’s resolutions for 2025. We hope that their resolutions will help inspire your own small business motivations throughout the new year. Their resolutions are presented below, in no particular order.

You may notice some similar resolutions listed, but I kept them separate, as something in the way one is framed may resonate differently with you.

*Please note that all information listed below was submitted by our community members as a courtesy. Intercap Merchant Partners, LLC, Carol Roth and our affiliates neither endorse nor recommend any of the following and should you purchase from or hire anyone, please ask for references and do your due diligence first.

1. Empowering Entrepreneurs

The Wanderlover's New Year’s resolution is to empower more aspiring entrepreneurs to build profitable, purpose-driven businesses. This year, I’ll expand my reach through digital courses, live workshops, and mentorship programs tailored to different growth stages. By leveraging social media and creating actionable, value-packed content, I aim to inspire confidence, provide clarity, and help individuals achieve financial freedom while pursuing their passions.
Thanks to: Danielle Hu of The Wanderlover.

2. Strengthen Leadership Dev't

In 2025, I plan to strengthen leadership development within the company by mentoring future leaders and delegating strategic decision-making responsibilities. As a CEO, I want to ensure the next generation of leaders is prepared to carry forward our mission with clarity and confidence. I hope to build a resilient leadership pipeline. This approach will also free up my time to focus on long-term strategy and scaling the business into new markets.
Thanks to: John Grant of Premier Bidets.

3. Working on the Business

I've been procrastinating on working on my own business and building a brand. Like many entrepreneurs, I focus so much on my clients' businesses that I often neglect my own.

In 2025, building trust through a strong personal brand is more important than ever. My goal is to create consistent content on platforms where my audience is and develop ways to convert them effectively. To stay accountable, I’ve planned multiple 30- and 90-day challenges starting January 1st.
Thanks to: Sascha Hoffmann of SH Media.

4. Expand Our Digital Presence

My business resolution for the new year is to focus on sustainable growth by expanding strategic partnerships and enhancing our digital presence. I plan to prioritize personalized customer experiences and streamline operations to add value to our communities. Additionally, I’ll empower my team with professional development opportunities, ensuring they have the resources to thrive. With an emphasis on innovation and community engagement, I'm excited to scale and make a greater impact.
Thanks to: Kristin Marquet of Femfounder.

5. Give New Sibling More Energy!

You know how it is in business: always something new to take up your attention. With our celebrity rubber duck line expanding so rapidly, we also created our new Tubs Gone Wild line of floating clawfoot tubs with our E.T. Foam Home, Our Spa Squatch, our Tub Rex, and our Magical Mystery Tour Unicorn. They look fabulous and people love them. But this year, we really have to commit to giving them the same kind of energy and attention as we do with the duckies! And we will...New Year's Promise!
Thanks to: Craig Wolfe of CelebriDucks.

6. Say No to Going Off Course

This coming year's resolution is to say no to everything that does not align with my vision for my life and business. Too often, I've found I say yes to opportunities that are good opportunities, even though they have nothing to do with the life that I want to build. I have my vision for my future, and if something doesn't align with it, no matter how good it looks on the outside, I'm saying no.
Thanks to: Shah Dudayev of ShahforShort.

7. Educate and Empower in 2025

My 2025 resolution is to share more financial education by creating YouTube videos and blog posts. I want to simplify complex topics like retirement planning and investment strategies, empowering people to make confident decisions about their financial futures. This year, I’m stepping out of my comfort zone to connect with a wider audience, provide valuable insights, and help more individuals achieve financial clarity and peace of mind.
Thanks to: Chris Abrams of Abrams Insurance Solutions.

8. More Focus On Brand Building

My 2025 resolution is to break free from the old-school sales funnel mindset at CruiseWestCoast.com and focus on being a true partner for everyone involved. I'm diving into the fun part - building real connections with travel partners, media folks, and cruise enthusiasts. Less 'top-of-funnel metrics' and more sharing amazing travel stories and photos. By making brand-building personal, I'll showcase our cruise community's best while making planning dream vacations as exciting as taking them!
Thanks to: James Hills of Cruise West Coast.

9. Have Fun Traveling!

Being a travel advisor and blogger can be tough; most people see me and think all my husband and I do is travel, eat, drink, and have fun, but it's a lot of work, too. When we go on trips for CouplePlaces.com, it can be easy to forget that the point of these shared experiences that we've been invited to share is ultimately about having fun. So for 2025, I want to get back to making time to do more of what we want and not just stuff we need to do for business purposes!
Thanks to: Heather Hills of CouplePlaces.com.

10. Have More Fun in 2025

My New Year's resolution for 2025 is to have more fun with my business and stop taking every setback, real or imagined (mostly imagined) so seriously. Many of the "business destroying" setbacks I've faced over the past 13 years of running Unfinished Man have actually made myself and my business more resilient.
Thanks to: Chad Barnsdale of Unfinished Man.

11. Make 2025 the Year of the HERO

In 2025, I’m committed to helping brands reshape their content strategies with a Hero Origins focus.

Business owners will need to reach the masses via transformative and personal narratives. By integrating evocative storytelling with captivating video content, brands will have a better chance to connect authentically, influence, and ignite movements through their unique, unforgettable beginnings.
Thanks to: Annesa L Lacey, Brand Voice Ghostwriter of a.L.interpretations.

12. Motion Granted For Healthy Law

My New Year's resolution for 2025 is to turn our law firm into a lean, mean, patent-filing machine—literally! We’re swapping coffee breaks for plank challenges and turning filing deadlines into steps on our daily pedometer goals. The goal? A healthier team that can actually enjoy their PTO instead of spending it recovering from office chair back pain. Because what's the point of winning cases if we can't enjoy the victory lap?
Thanks to: Devin Miller of Miller IP Law.

13. Not the Same Ol' Same Ol'

I used to find creativity and joy in my work, but after 17 years, things can become monotonous if I don't work at it. This year, I'm going to focus on getting more joy from my newsletter writing, and therefore be more productive and contagious!
Thanks to: Catherine Mitchell of WPBarista.

14. Make Myself Obsolete

Recently and for 2025, I am going to be working on removing as many extra "hats" I wear as possible. To do this, it will require some new resources (people) and to really dial in our systems.

To dial in our systems, we'll need to have a very well documented work flow for all roles. We'll continue to automate repeat tasks (links between accounting, quoting, project/task management, time tracking).

This + better measurement (KPIS) should allow us to scale and grow effectively with less pain!
Thanks to: Joe Hackman of Managed Solutions Inc.

15. Build Stronger Collaborations

In 2025, I'll boost my blog by partnering with fellow bloggers through guest posts and webinars. I'll engage brands for sponsored content and affiliate marketing. Leveraging social media for influencer collaborations and takeovers will expand my reach. Joining blogging communities and creating joint projects like e-books and podcasts will enhance my content. Using AI for outreach and virtual collaborations will save time. Here's to a year of growth and collaboration!
Thanks to: Mudassir Ahmed of Dear Wishes.

16. Grow My Business Blog

As an online entrepreneur, I understand the importance of having a strong online presence. In 2025, I want to focus on consistently publishing high-quality blog posts that will educate my readers and drive traffic to my website.

To achieve this resolution, I plan to implement a content calendar and a consistent posting schedule. Additionally, I want to diversify my content and experiment with different formats such as video or infographics.
Thanks to: Chris NPI of No Passive Income.

17. At Your Service...

My New Year’s Resolution for our business in 2025 is to maintain an innovative and collaborative company culture to best service our customers globally. In the New Year, I'll continue to show an emphasis on our existing and new customer base, as well as our employees, while focusing on our employee’s dedication to our business and working together to carry out our mission to help improve the air quality for our customers within the built environment.
Thanks to: Steve Levine of AtmosAir Solutions.

18. To Get Out of My Own Way

My new book, You've Got This, is launching in January, and I need to make sure I follow the book's advice and get out of my own way when it comes to its promotion! It's one thing to coach and mentor other people, but I will be doing a lot of self coaching to make sure I get myself and the book out there.
Thanks to: Rhea Freeman of Rhea Freeman PR.

19. Mind-FULL or Mindful?

To reduce overwhelm and be more present during my workday, I am resolving to focus on being mindful, or more present for 2025. As small business owners, we can get busy doing all the things and forget to even breathe. I am convinced this mindful mindset will not only ease anxiety, and reduce the amount of time on a task, but strengthen professional and personal relationships. I invite you to join me in being mindful instead of struggling with a mind-FULL!
Thanks to: Melissa Whiteford St. Clair of Paper Chaser Biz LLC.

20. Discover in-house Team Issues

I didn't get to spend much time in person with my team as I was focused more on growing our business reach. I feel this needs to be resolved. So, in 2025, my main goal is to connect more freely with my team and spend quality time with them in-house. This will help me discover any issues I might have overlooked and create a better synergy among my team members.
Thanks to: Scott Chesarek of J&S Transportation.

21. Brevity is the Soul of Wit

In a multi-thinking, multi-tasking Millennial Mach speed world, Shakespeare sums it up best. My resolution is to be more mindful when I communicate! Say what I mean and mean what I say.

Listening to understand, not to reply (Stephen Covey). Aim for in-person #IRL conversations. Three 2024 crucial business conversations over text sadly led to gross misunderstandings and ending relationships. Choose words carefully and be mindful of tone before hitting" send". Big breath in, then speak.
Thanks to: Jean Chow of MsBizWiz.

22. Diversify Revenue + Traffic

In 2025, my resolution is to diversify revenue and traffic streams.

More revenue streams and more channels feeding each one.

For some channels, I'll break things down further.

For example, with SEO, most would focus on traditional search engines like Google. But platforms like YouTube and TikTok have become popular ways to search for information.

I'm aiming to incorporate both of these platforms into my existing strategy.
Thanks to: Adam Connell of Search Endurance.

23. Going Greener in the New Year

As we move toward the new year, we resolve to make moving more sustainable. This year has shown us that the world has become even more aware of the environment and how business practices can have an impact on it. Our focus is to connect clients with movers who prioritize eco-friendly practices. No matter how small the change, every step brings us closer to a greener future. Our mission is to help our clients move in a way that is not just stress-free but also better for the planet.
Thanks to: Ryan Carrigan of MoveBuddha.

24. Talent Toolbox

In 2025, I will create and launch a comprehensive online Talent Optimization Resource Hub, providing valuable tools, templates, and insights to help organizations enhance their talent management practices.
Thanks to: AJ Cheponis of Straightline Consulting Group.

25. Bots-Business Our Resolution

2024 saw the rise of AI, and artificial intelligence has impacted all facets of life from personal to professional. As we step into the new year, our New Year’s Resolution is a promise to our clients and our staff, that no matter how “artificial” the business landscape becomes, we will always ensure that our company maintains a human touch. I believe that this approach will allow us to bridge the gap and connect the dots between humans and bots.
Thanks to: Matthew Woodward of Search Logistics.

26. Stop Doing Everything Myself

Get out of the weeds. I need to stop doing everyday tasks that I can delegate and spend more time working on the business instead of working in the business. This shift in the past has increased profits for other companies I have and makes all the difference. When I recognize that I have a team to take tasks from me so I can focus on the tasks that bring in the most business and profits.
Thanks to: Galit Ventura-Rozen of Everyday Woman.

27. Resolutions Keep Us Focused

For 2025, I’m focusing on enhancing the client experience at every touchpoint. Family law cases are emotional and challenging. I want to ensure we provide exceptional legal expertise by creating a compassionate, supportive environment for every client. Whether it’s through improved communication, streamlined processes, or innovative technology, I’m committed to making this year about truly putting our clients first. I also aim to expand our practice location throughout the Southeast!
Thanks to: Anna Blood of Blood Law, PLLC.

28. Close My AI Gap

I want to leverage technology to improve engagement, conversation and productivity in the new year. AI is only getting better so I will up my game to climb the knowledge ladder and build my confidence to stay relevant and in demand. I want to keep growing and learning as much as possible while sharing my humanity every day. I want AI to help me help more people in 2025.
Thanks to: Paige Arnof-Fenn of Mavens & Moguls.

29. Authenticity: My 2025 Vision

My main business-related New Year’s resolution for 2025 is to focus on creating content that not only ranks on Page 1 of Google but also builds deeper connections with my audience. I want to refine my SEO strategies while staying true to a human, conversational tone that provides real value and inspires readers to take action. It’s all about growth and authenticity this year!
Thanks to: Janice Wald of Mostly Blogging.

30. AI Ready School Year 2025-26

My goal for 2025 is to have my summer calendar fully booked with schools—not for the money, but to support as many teachers as possible in starting their school year strong with success strategies for using AI ethically and responsibly, all while staying ahead of the AI learning curve.

Teacher To Techie supports teachers, parents, and homeschoolers with digital literacy and Professional Development, covering topics like AI Literacy, AI Policy Development, and Ethics of AI in Education.
Thanks to: Lauren Farrow of Teacher To Techie.

31. All About Me

It doesn't matter what industry you are in - personal branding is powerful, so my New Year's resolution is to focus on me as well as the product, because in the health industry that relationship of trust is vital.

I want people I work with to know they can trust me and understand who they will be working with, and I think that starts with me being authentic. This is something I try to do already, but it can get forgotten in the day-to-day work, and I want to make it a priority for 2025.
Thanks to: Sisse Marie of Neurogan Health.

32. Personal with Professional

As a new father, I'm very excited about exploring that in our business in the new year and thinking about how we connect with families. Part of the joy of working with my own family is that we can explore ideas together without judgment but with critical thinking.

For resolutions in business, you can still be led by passion in your personal life. Bringing that passion and inspiration to your professional life in a way that makes sense can actually help strengthen what you are doing.
Thanks to: Alexander Brandrup of Nurogan.

33. Change Means Creativity

With the recent closure of a massive PR tool that connected our clients with journalists, there is a real buzz around how the industry is changing and leaning away from the AI trend.

It offers any PR a way to rethink how they interact with journalists and build relationships. I'm looking forward to experimenting in how we approach this and creating new, vital journalist connections for our clients.

When industries change it opens us to creativity, so I will be leaning into that this year.
Thanks to: Phil Scully of HARO Helpers.

34. The Bigger Picture

Professionally, I will be really leaning into introducing my wellness practice to my work at Ultimate Kilimanjaro. My resolution is to inspire people to see their journeys as more than just a physical task, but a mental one as well that can help inspire them and their growth moving forward.

I want to infuse that personal journey into everyone's experience of climbing, helping them consider all of the surrounding factors that lead them to do this and the lifestyle they want to live.
Thanks to: Jo Lacroix of Ultimate Kilimanjaro.

35. Environmental Solutions

In the coming year, Goodbee Plumbing will work to stay on the forefront of eco-friendly plumbing practices. This includes remaining knowledgeable about the latest advancements in sustainable plumbing solutions and being able to install water treatment systems designed to minimize waste. We will also be able to advise customers on ways to reduce water usage through high-efficiency fixtures. Our goal is to support responsible water management and maintain our high-quality services.
Thanks to: Allison Harrison of Goodbee Plumbing.

36. New Year, New Resolve

2024 was a year filled with ups and downs for all industries and weathering these storms was no easy task. However, every challenge brought valuable learning opportunities. So, did we grow from it? Yes, absolutely. Are we wiser now? Without a doubt.
Our New Year’s resolution for 2025 is all about embracing challenges with newfound resolve. Turning the twists and turns of the business landscape into steps toward success and enjoying the rollercoaster ride as it takes us to new heights.
Thanks to: Sofia Perez of Character Counter.

37. Our Focus for the New Year

If 2024 has taught us anything, it is that the world around us is evolving at a rapid pace. As attorneys, our main focus is always on our clients and finding the best solutions to provide them with the best possible outcomes. Now, if that means embracing new technologies, streamlining operations, or enhancing our communications we will do it gladly.

After all, our clients are at the heart of what we do, and we will always go the extra mile to ensure their satisfaction.
Thanks to: Martin Gasparian of Maison Law.

38. Gaining Global Customers

We seek to expand our global reach in 2025 by building partnerships with international exhibitors. Our team emphasizes responsive communication and a commitment to understanding the unique needs of different markets, making us a reliable partner for businesses looking to maximize their presence in global trade shows. Through dedication to quality design, strong customer service, and logistics expertise, Cardinal Expo aims to grow our trusted reputation with businesses worldwide.
Thanks to: Thomas Samuels of Cardinal Expo.

39. Encouraging Staff's Wellness

I'm known for making New Year's Resolutions, just look in my journal. This year, however, I resolve to include others. I plan to encourage more activity among our amazing team, taking daily 10 minute walks around our neighborhood. Why should we limit our views of nature from the inside? Let's see how we all benefit from the movement, fresh air and friendly conversations. Perhaps we will build stronger bones, stronger friendships and even a little stronger business team.
Thanks to: Ashley Kenny of Heirloom Video Books.

40. Expand on Partnerships

Our New Year's resolution is to expand our reach and impact by forging new partnerships with organizations that share our mission of uplifting at-risk communities. I aim to double our community engagement programs and enhance revenue streams to ensure sustainable growth, empowering more individuals with the tools and opportunities they need to thrive. The more you can get the word out there, the easier it is to find those who can help and raise funds for those who need it the most.
Thanks to: Timm Sasser of UpFrom.

41. Boosting Local Search Presence

My 2025 goal is to boost local search presence for our clients. We’ll optimize Google Business Profiles with engaging posts, accurate details, and reviews. By targeting hyper-local keywords and creating geo-specific content, we’ll ensure clients rank higher in local searches. It connects businesses with nearby customers actively searching for their services, increasing leads, and revenue.
Thanks to: Toni Marino of Toni Marino SEO.

My focus for 2025 is on innovation to meet evolving workforce needs. We’ll harness AI and analytics to customize learning paths, ensuring programs adapt to individual roles and industry trends. Expanding our use of immersive tech and continuously learning about them, we’ll deliver engaging, practical training that empowers teams to thrive in rapidly changing environments.
Thanks to: Rich Fox of Ardent Learning.

By investing in our team’s expertise and leveraging innovative tools, we aim to empower businesses with strategies that foster resilience, efficiency, and long-term success.
Thanks to: Paul Littler of WR Partners.

44. Be More Mindful

My 2025 New Year’s resolution is to approach business with greater mindfulness. This means being more intentional in decision-making, fostering a supportive and balanced workplace culture, and aligning every project with our core values. I plan to prioritize active listening with clients and my team, embracing sustainability in our operations, and dedicating time to reflection to ensure we’re making meaningful, purpose-driven progress in all our projects in the new year.
Thanks to: Gabe Charalambides of Odyssey.

45. Highlight Our Employees More

One of my business New Year’s resolutions this year is to start including our employees in more of our public-facing social posts. We do all kinds of fun things in our office to promote a healthy work-place culture, and we recently tried posting about them and found they performed very well. I’m really looking forward to sharing a little more about the fun culture we have here with our followers.
Thanks to: Mitch Chailland of Canal HR.

46. Stronger Collaboration Focus

I aim to lead with a stronger focus on collaboration, building partnerships with other AI innovators to enhance the versatility of our platform. It also means exploring untapped markets where AI can create a profound impact. I believe fostering these alliances will allow us to bring greater value to customers.
Thanks to: Lifei Chen of buysmart.ai.

47. Data-driven Decision-making

My resolution is to implement data-driven decision-making into every layer of our operations, from client acquisition to internal processes. This involves investing in advanced analytics tools and training my team to make data-informed choices.
Thanks to: Conrad Wang of EnableU.

This will help us create deeply personalized customer journeys.
Thanks to: Maryanne Fiedler of Psychic Source.

50. Launching New Campaigns

I would love to destigmatize holistic health by championing education and transparency. I will look into launching an awareness campaign to demystify holistic practices, showcasing their evidence-based benefits and integrative approach to care. Partnering with medical professionals and thought leaders, I want to bridge the gap between traditional and holistic medicine. By creating an accessible platform, I can empower individuals to explore holistic options confidently.
Thanks to: Aspen Noonan of Elevate Holistics.

51. Amplify Benefits!

In 2025, I would like to amplify awareness about the power of environmentally friendly products. This year, I’m committed to expanding outreach efforts to educate consumers on how small choices—like using eco-conscious laundry solutions—can make a big impact. Through engaging content, partnerships with sustainability advocates, and showcasing the tangible benefits of green living, I aim to inspire more people to make the switch.
Thanks to: Dan Steiner of Good Laundry.

52. Promote Personal Balance

By modeling balance for my clients, I’ll help them avoid burnout and align their businesses with fulfilling, sustainable practices. This goal is deeply tied to business success, as balanced leaders make better decisions and foster stronger relationships.
Thanks to: Kellianne Fedio of Kellianne.Me.

53. More Face Time with Clients

I am going to get out of my comfort zone. Reach out to clients and vendors on a more personal level. Visit them and entertain them.
Thanks to: Rick Canale of Exotic Flowers.

54. Partnership Beyond The Numbers

Revamping my team's customer service approach for our clients. Traditionally, keeping our clients updated on success metrics has come first. However, my plan for 2025 is to focus 80% on strategic options and explaining the "why" behind the strategic approach—and 20% on the results produced. Data is plentiful—performance KPIs are easy to find—but having a true partner is not. I consider every client a partner, and it is my job as a CEO to express this to our clients beyond the numbers.
Thanks to: Bernard May of National Positions.

55. Engagement Through Technology

My business resolution for 2025 is to enhance client engagement through innovative technology. I plan to implement a streamlined case management portal where clients can track case progress, upload documents, and receive real-time updates. This will improve communication, reduce stress for clients, and strengthen our relationships. By integrating these tools, my team can work more efficiently, focusing on securing the best outcomes while providing a seamless and transparent client experience.
Thanks to: Rick Hovde of Hovde, Dassow, & Deets.

56. Empathy Drives Advocacy

For 2025, my resolution is to build a more empathetic client experience. Personal injury cases are deeply personal, and I want to ensure every client feels supported through streamlined communication, timely updates, and clear guidance. By enhancing client trust and satisfaction, we can further solidify our firm’s reputation as a compassionate advocate for those navigating life-altering challenges.
Thanks to: Joshua Frachtman of Zimmerman & Frachtman.

57. Peaceful Resolutions First

My 2025 resolution is to refine mediation strategies to support families better. I aim to minimize conflict and promote fair outcomes by incorporating advanced training and resources for our team. A smoother mediation process not only benefits our clients but also aligns with our mission of reducing emotional stress in family disputes. Focusing on peaceful resolutions strengthens our role as advocates for stability during challenging transitions.
Thanks to: Mark Childress of Law Offices of Mark M Childress.

58. Committed to Learning

Long ago, I was teased for not knowing anything about computers and high tech. Then came social media, and I embraced everything I could to increase my business success, which included moving from competition to a collaborative spirit. Learning is vital not only for long-term business success but also for expanding horizons.

Today, I'm committed to reading all I can, sharing the news I receive, and figuring out how I may apply the new such as AI and Chat GPT.

The future is in our hands.
Thanks to: Elinor Stutz of Smooth Sale.

59. One Step Back 2 Steps Forward

My New Year’s resolution is to fully document the systems and procedures required to run my business so I can start hiring employees and provide them with an easy to use reference for doing their job effectively. Documenting our systems will cost me a few weeks of work, but will provide long term growth benefits.
Thanks to: Lou Haverty of Faster Answering.

Thanks to: Mike Reifeiss of Aall In Limo & Party Bus.

Thanks to: Duane Coker of Coker, Robb & Cannon.

64. Perspective for Positivity

My New Year's resolution is to shift my perspective towards positivity. To develop a good outlook, I will begin by writing down three things I am grateful for every day. Reframe negative thoughts into positive ones and concentrate on solutions rather than issues to combat them. I will be in the company of positive, upbeat people who encourage and inspire me. I strive to take part in enjoyable and fulfilling activities, like volunteering or hobbies.
