Go to your customers…don’t wait for them to come to you
I was in the bathroom in the United terminal of LaGuardia airport last week when I noticed this sign posted above the hand dryers…
After I stopped rolling my eyes, I realized it was such a great reminder of how you need to sell your products in a location and manner relevant to your customers.
If you have an immediate need for a feminine hygiene product, traipsing out of the bathroom and through the terminal concourse isn’t going to cut it. Guys, if you have no idea what I am talking about, it would basically be the equivalent of you having “Montezuma’s revenge” and them offering toilet paper down the street somewhere.
So, how does this principle apply to your products and services? Don’t wait for your customers to come to you…go out and offer your products and services in a location relevant to your customers’ needs.
Customers are short on attention and time, so fit your products and services in with their lifestyles in a place where it is easy and obvious for them to make a purchase.
